1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Sole Drift Pty Ltd (“Sole Drift”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, stores,
shares, and protects your personal information when you use the Sole Drift platform, including the Sole Drift
websites (soledrift.com and soledrift.co.uk), the Sole Drift mobile applications for iOS and Android, and all
related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
This Privacy Policy applies to all users, including visitors, Free Members, and Paid Members, regardless of
where they are located. It should be read together with our Terms of Use, Subscription & Refund Policy, and
Community Guidelines.

3. Information We Collect
3.1 Account Information
When you create an Account, we may collect your name (where provided via your sign-in provider), email
address, username, profile picture, authentication method (Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or email/password),
and a unique user identifier. If you sign in using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, we receive basic profile
information made available by those providers in accordance with your account settings and their respective
privacy policies.
3.2 Membership and Payment Information
Where you purchase a Membership, we or our payment processors may receive your subscription status and
Membership type, renewal status and purchase platform, and transaction identifiers required to manage your
Membership. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Payment processing is handled by
Apple, Google, or Shopify depending on where you purchase. Subscription management within the App is
handled by RevenueCat.
3.3 Profile and Community Information
Your profile may include your username and profile picture, explorer rank, achievements, and badges,
Completed Location count and history, and approved reviews and ratings. Some of this information is publicly
visible to other users of the Platform.
3.4 User Content
When you use Community Features, we collect content you voluntarily submit, including reviews and ratings,
photographs, chat messages, Completed Location records, and profile updates. User Content may become
publicly visible to other users depending on the feature used.
3.5 Location Information
The App and Website may access your device’s location to centre the map on your current position, show
nearby locations, and determine your country on startup to load the correct location database. Your precise
GPS location is used only while the relevant function requires it. We do not permanently store your precise GPS
location in our database. Location permissions are controlled through your device settings and may be denied or
revoked at any time, though this will limit certain map functionality.
3.6 Device and Technical Information
When you access the Platform, we may automatically collect your device model and operating system version,
application version, language settings, diagnostic and crash reports, and your IP address (used for general
location and security purposes, not permanently stored alongside your profile). This information helps us
maintain, improve, and troubleshoot the Platform.
3.7 Usage and Analytics Information
We collect information about how you interact with the Platform to understand usage patterns and improve the
user experience, including features and screens accessed, search queries and filter usage, session duration
and frequency, and general performance metrics.
On the Sole Drift websites, we use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, TikTok Pixel, and Google Ads conversion
tracking for advertising analytics and campaign measurement. These tools may collect information about yourdevice, browser, and interactions with our websites and may set cookies or similar technologies.
Within the App, we use Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase) for app analytics and performance
monitoring. We use Sentry for crash reporting and diagnostics across the Platform.
Where required by applicable law (including UK and EU cookie laws), we will seek your consent before placing
non-essential cookies or tracking technologies. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser
settings.
3.8 Communications
If you contact us or have consented to marketing communications, we will retain records of that communication
and your email address and preferences.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information only where reasonably necessary to operate, improve, and protect the
Platform. Specifically, we use your information to:
• Create and manage your Account and authenticate your identity
• Provide and manage your Membership access
• Process subscription purchases and renewals
• Display and operate Community Features
• Personalise your in-app experience
• Provide customer support and respond to enquiries
• Send transactional communications relating to your Account and Membership
• Send marketing communications where you have consented (and as permitted by applicable law)
• Improve Platform functionality, performance, and reliability
• Conduct analytics to understand usage and improve our services
• Measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns
• Investigate and moderate reported content and Community Features
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access
• Comply with our legal obligations
• Protect the security and integrity of the Platform
5. Legal Bases for Processing (UK, EU, and EEA Users)
Where UK GDPR or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to our processing of your
personal information, we process your data on one or more of the following legal bases:
Contract performance: Processing necessary to provide the Platform and manage your Membership (e.g.
Account creation, subscription management, Membership access).
Consent: Processing based on your opt-in consent, including marketing emails and the use of non-essential
cookies and tracking tools (Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Ads). You may withdraw consent at any time.
Legitimate interests: Processing where our legitimate business interests are not overridden by your rights.
This includes analytics, fraud prevention, security, improving the Platform, and moderation of Community
Features.
Legal obligation: Processing required to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to such processing. See Section 10 (Your
Rights) for details.6. Public Information
Certain information you submit through the Platform is intended to be publicly visible to other users, including
your username and profile picture, approved reviews and ratings, Explorer rank, badges, and achievements,
Completed Location count, chat messages in member chat rooms, and uploaded photographs submitted
through Community Features.
By submitting User Content through Community Features, you acknowledge that this information may be visible
to all users of the Platform globally. Your email address, authentication credentials, payment information, and
precise location are never publicly displayed.
7. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only where reasonably necessary to
operate the Platform.
7.1 Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party service providers to operate the Platform. These providers process your
information only for the services they provide to Sole Drift and are bound by appropriate data processing terms.
Our current providers include:
Supabase: Authentication, database, file storage, and backend infrastructure
RevenueCat: Subscription and Membership management
Mapbox: Interactive mapping services
Apple: App Store distribution, Apple Sign-In, and iOS payment processing
Google: Google Play, Google Sign-In, Android payments, Firebase analytics, and Google Ads
Shopify: Website payment processing
Sentry: Crash reporting and application diagnostics
Meta (Facebook): Website analytics and advertising measurement via Meta Pixel
TikTok: Website analytics and advertising measurement via TikTok Pixel

7.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your personal information where required or permitted by law, including to comply with a court
order, subpoena, or legal process; to comply with requests from regulators or government authorities; to protect
the legal rights, property, or safety of Sole Drift, our users, or others; or to investigate suspected fraud or
unlawful activity. Where legally permitted, we will endeavour to notify you before disclosing your information in
response to a legal request.
7.3 Business Transfers
If Sole Drift is involved in a merger, acquisition, corporate restructure, insolvency, or sale of assets, your
personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Where appropriate, we will require any
successor organisation to protect your information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
8. International Data Transfers
Sole Drift is based in Australia and serves users globally. Your personal information may be processed or stored
in countries outside your country of residence, including Australia, the United States, and countries where our
service providers operate infrastructure.Where we transfer personal information from the UK or EEA to countries that do not provide an equivalent level
of data protection, we take appropriate safeguards, which may include Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
approved by the European Commission or UK ICO, adequacy decisions issued by relevant authorities, or other
legally recognised transfer mechanisms.

9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Platform and manage
your Membership, comply with applicable legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, detect
and prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the security and integrity of the Platform.
Retention periods vary by data type. When you permanently delete your Account, we remove your profile and
associated User Content from the Platform. Some information may remain in secure, encrypted backups for a
limited period before being automatically overwritten. Information we are legally required or permitted to retain
after Account deletion will be retained for the applicable statutory period.
10. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information under applicable privacy
laws. We are committed to responding to rights requests within the timeframes required by applicable law.
10.1 Rights for All Users
Regardless of your location, you may access and update your Account information directly through the Platform;
request correction of inaccurate information we hold about you; delete your Account at any time through the
Platform or by contacting us; unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time; control location permissions
through your device settings; and contact us at support@soledrift.com with any privacy concern.
10.2 Rights for UK and EEA Users (UK GDPR / GDPR)
If you are located in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, you have the following additional rights:
• Right of access — to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Right to rectification — to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Right to erasure — to request deletion of your personal information in certain circumstances
• Right to restrict processing — to request that we limit how we use your data
• Right to data portability — to receive certain personal information in a structured, machine-readable format
• Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes

10.3 Rights for Australian Users
If you are located in Australia, your personal information is protected under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the
Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). You have the right to access and request correction of the personal
information we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information
Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au if you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern.10.4 Rights for California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA),
including the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you; the right to delete
personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions; the right to opt out of the sale or sharing
of your personal information (note: we do not sell your personal information); and the right to non-discrimination

11. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
11.1 Websites
The Sole Drift websites use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and maintain
secure sessions, understand how visitors use our websites, measure the effectiveness of our advertising
campaigns, and deliver relevant advertising through third-party platforms.
Specifically, our websites use:
• Meta (Facebook) Pixel — collects data about website visits and user actions to measure ad performance
and build audiences for advertising on Facebook and Instagram
• TikTok Pixel — collects data about website visits and user actions to measure ad performance on TikTok
• Google Ads Conversion Tracking — tracks website visits and conversions to measure the effectiveness of
Google Ads campaigns
• Firebase / Google Analytics — website performance analytics
• Essential session and preference cookies necessary for the website to function
Where required by applicable law (including UK and EU cookie laws), we will seek your consent before placing
non-essential cookies. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.
11.2 Mobile App
The Sole Drift App uses:
• Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase) — for app analytics, performance monitoring, and usage statistics
• Sentry — for crash reporting and diagnostics
• Apple SKAdNetwork — Apple’s privacy-preserving attribution framework used to measure the
effectiveness of Apple Search Ads campaigns. No personally identifiable information is shared with Sole Drift
through this framework.
We do not use advertising identifiers (such as IDFA or GAID) from your device for targeted advertising purposes
within the App.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Platform is intended for users aged 16 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information
from anyone under the age of 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a user
under 16, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information and terminate the Account as soon as
practicable. If you believe a child under 16 has provided personal information to Sole Drift, please contact us
immediately at support@soledrift.com.
13. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against
unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss, and destruction. Our security measures include encryptedcommunications (HTTPS/TLS) across the Platform, secure authentication through trusted providers, access
controls limiting data access to authorised personnel, removal of EXIF metadata from uploaded photographs,
and crash and error monitoring via Sentry.
No electronic system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your
Account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@soledrift.com. In the event of a data
breach that requires notification under applicable law, we will notify you and any relevant regulatory authorities
as required.
14. Third-Party Services
The Platform links to and integrates with third-party websites, applications, and services. This Privacy Policy
does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party
services you use. Third-party services we currently use include:

responsible for the privacy practices of independent third-party services.
15. Deleting Your Account
You may permanently delete your Sole Drift Account at any time through the Platform settings or by contacting
us at support@soledrift.com. When your Account is permanently deleted, we remove your profile, username,
profile picture, reviews, ratings, uploaded photographs, Completed Locations, chat messages, Explorer
Rankings, badges, achievements, and saved locations from the Platform. Account deletion is permanent and
cannot be reversed.
Deleting your Account does not automatically cancel any active subscription purchased through the Apple App
Store or Google Play Store. You must cancel those subscriptions separately through the relevant App Store.
We may retain certain information after Account deletion where we are legally required or permitted to do so,
including for taxation, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance purposes.
16. Marketing Communications
If you have consented to receiving marketing communications, we may send you information about new
features and Platform updates, Membership offers and promotions, new countries and location additions,
environmental initiatives and conservation news, and community events and giveaways.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email
or by contacting us at support@soledrift.com. Unsubscribing will not affect essential service communications,
including Account notifications, security alerts, subscription information, and legal notices.17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Platform, our services, technology,
applicable law, or our privacy practices. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated”
date at the top of this Privacy Policy and, where required by applicable law, provide additional notice such as an
email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Platform after an updated Privacy Policy becomes
effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
