Questions about the app, your membership or a spot? Send us a message and Jack or Poppy will get back to you.
Getting started
Can I try it before I pay?
Yes. It’s free to download and some spots are free to unlock, so you can see exactly what you get first. The rest need a membership: Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime.
Is it on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Sole Drift is on the App Store and Google Play.
Which countries are included?
Australia (1,100+ spots) and the UK (500+). New Zealand is coming soon, and we add new spots regularly.
Does it work without phone signal?
Not yet. The app needs a connection for now, and offline mode is coming in a future update. Before you head off, tap Open in Maps on the spots you’re visiting, save them in Google Maps and download the area for offline use.
Plans
What’s the difference between Monthly, Yearly and Lifetime?
Monthly and Yearly unlock every map, including new ones as they launch, and you can cancel anytime. Lifetime is a one-off payment that unlocks one country for good, with all future updates for that map.
Will I get new maps, like New Zealand?
On Monthly or Yearly, yes: every current and future map is included, and New Zealand is coming soon. Lifetime covers one country, and you can buy a Lifetime membership for each map you want.
How much does it cost?
Prices show in the app in your local currency, and depend on your country’s app store.
Can I share my account?
Memberships are for one person, but Yearly includes one free friend invite.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel in your Apple or Google Play account settings, where you subscribed. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel your membership. Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google Play. Joined on the website instead? See How do I cancel my website membership? below.
Moving from the website
I bought a membership on the website. How do I get it in the app?
Create a new account in the app using the same email you used on the website, and your access is added automatically:
- Monthly: 1 free month
- Yearly: 1 free year
- Lifetime: carries over for good
How do I cancel my website membership?
If you joined on soledrift.com, you manage it here on the website, not in the app:
- Tap Account at the top of any page
- Log in with the email you signed up with
- Choose Manage membership and cancel from there
Where has the website map gone?
The map now lives in the Sole Drift app, with more spots, more details and new features. Website members get free access in the app, as explained above.
My membership isn’t showing in the app.
Check you signed up in the app with the same email you used on the website. If you used a different email, or Apple’s Hide My Email, email contact@soledrift.com and we’ll link it for you.
Community and the places
How do the member chats work?
Unlock a membership, open the Chat tab, and swap tips, conditions and meet-ups with explorers in your state or region. Members can also suggest hidden spots there, and we check each one before it goes on the map.
Why share hidden spots at all?
Because the outdoors should be for everyone who’ll look after it. We’re building a community of explorers who respect these places:
- Every spot comes with safety notes and Leave No Trace guidance.
- The membership means the people going genuinely care about visiting properly.
- With 1,600+ spots to choose from, no single place gets hammered.
- Part of every membership goes to environmental charities, and as the community grows we’re planning clean-up days and Leave No Trace education.
